Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A chaotic scene unfolded at Lords Plaza Hotel in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, as approximately 1,800 job seekers gathered for interviews for just 10 vacancies at an engineering company in the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation complex in Jhagadia. The incident occurred when the dense crowd pushed against a steel railing, causing it to collapse.
Videos of the incident have gone viral, showing aspirants jostling and climbing stairs to enter the venue, with some standing on the railing before it gave way. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported as the railing was close to the ground.

While the Congress criticized the BJP, calling the incident a reflection of rising unemployment and a failure of the Gujarat model, BJP MP Mansukh Vasava from Bharuch shifted blame onto the organizing company. He emphasized the need for clear criteria and better management of such interviews to prevent such incidents in the future.
